The staff provide expertise in joining and fabrication, material science and structural integrity. Services include generic research; contract R&D; technical information; engineering services and advice; standards development; and training and qualification services.
Our client manages the world’s first educational establishment offering industry-driven postgraduate degree programmes in structural integrity.
The Asset Life Management Team develops asset integrity assessment products and services companies worldwide, who are concerned with the management of engineering assets. We now seek Research and Senior Research Engineers to join the team in Cambridge to lead and contribute to research projects.
The job requires developing and implementing bespoke decision support approaches and algorithms within the context of integrity management of structural assets.
The types of situations in which such decision support could be applicable include modelling of damage, risk-based inspection optimisation and modelling reliability or availability of assets.
What they are looking for.
You should preferably be an engineering or mathematics related PhD holder with a demonstrated ability for independent research and effective teamwork.
You should be able to develop and apply new concepts and have a creative ability to problem solving.
Your experience should demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
Previous working experience on public funding e.g. InnovateUK, FP7 or H2020 will be useful for this position.
As part of the role, you will also be required to support or supervise PhD candidates
- Experience in any of the following areas is desirable:
- Risk modelling
- Data Analytics
- Reliability Engineering
- Degradation assessment models
It is crucial to mention that you will required to travel on a short-term basis (e.g. up to two weeks) within the UK and overseas according to the demands of your project work.
