<p>Our client is seeking Senior / Principal Environmental Consultants to support and lead the delivery of environmental permitting and regulatory compliance projects across the UK.</p>

<p>The role focuses on coordinating environmental permitting workstreams, delivering technical environmental assessments and supporting industrial and infrastructure clients with regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will work within multidisciplinary teams of engineers and scientists, contributing to complex environmental consultancy projects.</p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<p>Typical responsibilities may include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Coordinating delivery of environmental permitting projects across the UK</li>
<li>Preparing and managing environmental permit applications and variations under relevant regulatory regimes</li>
<li>Undertaking environmental impact assessments using tools such as D1 Calculations, H1 Software Tool, SCAIL and ADMS</li>
<li>Conducting Best Available Techniques (BAT) reviews of plant, equipment and industrial processes</li>
<li>Managing regulatory liaison and negotiation with organisations including SEPA, the Environment Agency (EA), NIEA and EPA</li>
<li>Preparing high-quality technical reports and supporting documentation</li>
<li>Supporting project budgeting, proposal preparation and commercial delivery</li>
<li>Contributing to business development and client relationship management</li>
<li>Coordinating work across multidisciplinary engineering, scientific and environmental teams</li>
<li>Mentoring and supporting the development of junior consultants</li>

<p><strong>Candidate Requirements</strong></p>
<p>The successful candidate will demonstrate strong experience within environmental permitting and consultancy environments.</p>
<p>Candidates should ideally possess:</p>
<ul>
<li>A BSc or MSc (Honours or master’s degree) in Chemical, Process, Mechanical, Civil or Environmental Engineering, physical sciences or a related discipline</li>
<li>Experience delivering environmental permitting projects within consultancy or industrial environments</li>
<li>Experience preparing permit applications under IED / PPC / EPR / IPC frameworks</li>
<li>Experience undertaking environmental impact assessments using D1, H1, SCAIL and ADMS tools</li>
<li>Experience conducting BAT assessments and regulatory compliance reviews</li>
<li>Strong understanding of regulatory processes and environmental legislation</li>
<li>Experience liaising with regulators including SEPA, EA, NIEA and EPA</li>
<li>Strong technical report writing and analytical capability</li>
<li>Experience working within multidisciplinary teams</li>
<li>A full UK driving licence with clean record</li>

<li>Experience supporting surface water drainage design and sustainable drainage systems</li>
<li>Knowledge of planning and regulatory frameworks relating to flood risk and drainage</li>
<li>Strong technical report writing and analytical skills</li>
<li>Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and environmental teams</li>
<li>Full UK driving licence and willingness to undertake site visits</li>
